Meet SRIJANA MANDAL 6 Yrs. She is fighting for her life
Meet Srijana Mandal.
At an age when most little girls are learning to write their first words, playing with dolls, and going to kindergarten... Srijana is lying on a hospital bed at AIIMS, Delhi.
She has blood cancer.
Every day is a painful battle for this little girl. Needles, tests, medicines, chemotherapy... pain that no 6-year-old should ever have to feel. Yet, she smiles. She asks her mother, "Mumma, when will I go home? When will I play again?"
Her father works as a security guard. Day and night, he stands at a gate to protect other people's homes, earning just enough to feed his family. He has never held lakhs of rupees in his hands.
Now, the doctors at AIIMS have told him that Srijana's only hope is a Bone Marrow Transplantation, which will cost around Rs. 10 Lakhs.
10 Lakhs... for a security guard, it feels like 10 crores.
He has sold whatever little he had. He has borrowed from everyone he knows. But it is still not enough to save his daughter.
